Department of Physics and Chemistry - Scientific activities

Scientific activities

The Physics and Chemistry Department was established in 2006. The main task of the department is to offer preparatory physics and chemistry courses as well as special professional and natural science subjects for the engineering degrees of the Faculty of Engineering Sciences. Basically, the Laboratory of Physics and the Laboratory of Chemistry serve educational goals.
The Environmental Chemistry Research Group in collaboration with the Laboratory of the North Transdanubian Regional Environmental Protection and Nature Conservation Inspectorate is focused on the chemical analysis of inorganic and organic pollutants in environmental samples. In the field of applied physics the following research activities are being undertaken: diagnostics of fusion plasmas, simulation of light propagation and digital image processing, development of optimization methods, and optimization of patient exposures arising from diagnostic x-ray procedures.
